BRICS: Dauren Abayev Spoke about Kazakhstan's Status

Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Russia Dauren Abayev noted that Kazakhstan is ready to support all productive initiatives of the association that meet our country's national interests, Orda.kz reports.
The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Russia, Dauren Abayev, said this in an interview with TASS.
To begin with, we received the status of a BRICS partner country. This is already a big step,he said.
Abayev also commented on Kazakhstan's refusal to become a full-fledged member.
So far we have refrained from applying for membership, and there have been certain, I emphasize, groundless insinuations in the media about this. We are ready to support all productive BRICS initiatives that meet our national interests. Our country will also continue to closely monitor the development of the organization and strengthen productive dialogue, stated Dauren Abayev.
Abayev also said that Kazakhstan sees BRICS as an essential mechanism for strengthening international stability.
Today, geopolitical tensions are the main challenge and threat to the global community. That is why efforts aimed at de-escalating them are so important. It is no coincidence that our president singled out Russia's concept of creating equal and indivisible security in Eurasia, as well as China's peace initiative,
he said.
The Ambassador stressed the importance of developing economic partnerships with BRICS countries.
It so happens that our two largest neighbors and key trading partners, Russia and China, are the founding states of BRICS. Therefore, there can be no doubt about our interest in economic cooperation. And Qasym-Jomart Toqayev clearly outlined the key areas of such cooperation, including transport, energy, IT technologies, critical minerals, and food security.
Dauren Abayev emphasized the importance of the messages in Kazakh President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev's speech at the summit.
I can't help but share the opinion of analysts. At the same time, your question already contains the answer to it: the entire speech of the head of state was filled with a constructive agenda, and each of its points is a sufficient message. I think that all of them are good support for further expert discussions, he said.
Kazakh Presidential Press Secretary Berik Uali previously said the country had received an offer to join BRICS but did not plan to submit an application in the foreseeable future.
