In Atyrau, a blogger was arrested following the publication of an Instagram video in which he made strong statements and used obscene language directed at the President of Kazakhstan, Orda.kz reports.
The video generated significant public reaction and was widely discussed on social media. It included the phrase "the people live in a basement" along with profanity addressed to the Head of State.
Many users found the content offensive and inappropriate.
On June 12, a court reviewed the case under Part 1 of Article 434 of Kazakhstan’s Code of Administrative Offenses, which concerns petty hooliganism.
According to court materials, the video disrupted public order and demonstrated clear disrespect for others.
The court found that the offender's guilt was fully confirmed. During the hearing, he admitted his guilt and expressed remorse, which was taken into account as a mitigating circumstance. Nevertheless, taking into account the nature of the offense and the degree of its public danger, the court ruled to apply administrative arrest to the offender for a period of 15 days,
the regional court's press service stated.
