“Birthday Gift”: Bishimbayev’s Ex-Wife Says He Has Filed Two Legal Claims Against Her

Nazym Kakharman, the ex-wife of Kuandyk Bishimbayev — who was convicted of homicide — says her former husband has filed two legal claims against her. One seeks to impose a travel ban on their three children, and the other concerns determining the terms of his contact with them, Orda.kz reports.
Nazym Kakharman wrote on Instagram that the documents arrived on her birthday. She ironically called it “a nice gift.”
A year ago, when we went to court to have him stripped of his parental rights, the court ruled that he must issue a power of attorney. He did, and that power of attorney lasted exactly 10 months. At the end of August, he revoked it. And now he is also revoking the consent he gave for the children to travel on their own and leave the country. In my view, this person is doing everything possible to force the children to interact with him, said Nazym Kakharman.
The second lawsuit concerns defining the order of his communication with the children:
Here he claims that I prevent the children from talking to him and that I defame him in every possible way (...) Last year the court did not strip him of his parental rights, and now this is what we’re dealing with.
She notes that she was not very upset, since she “more or less expected something like this.”
I would have been surprised in only one case — if this person had shown remorse for what he did, simply helped his children in every way he could, loved them from a distance, and was happy that they are doing well. Sadly, miracles don’t happen. And people like this never change, they only get worse, she wrote.
Earlier, Nazym Kakharman said that Bishimbayev had repeatedly delayed alimony payments and eventually stopped paying them altogether.
