Bektenov, Rosatom Chief Discuss Localized Approach for Kazakhstan’s First Nuclear Plant

Astana, August 10: Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov met with Rosatom head Alexey Likhachev to discuss future cooperation on Kazakhstan’s first nuclear power plant, Orda.kz reports.
Talks focused on maximizing the use of locally produced goods, equipment, and materials during construction, as well as localizing elements of the nuclear fuel cycle.
Bektenov emphasized that the project is under the direct supervision of the president and that the government will provide all necessary support to ensure its implementation.
