The authorities plan to introduce complete oversight over all charitable activities in Kazakhstan, Orda.kz reports.
According to the Minister of Culture and Information, Aida Balayeva, this is necessary to protect Kazakhstanis from fraudsters.
Currently, charity in the country is mainly represented by fundraising for treatment. The Ministry proposes to create a single mechanism for providing assistance, but there are no specifics yet.
The matter is being discussed, a working group has been created. There are no specific decisions yet, as we are collecting proposals, studying expert opinions. You must understand that such initiatives are not passed without reason. There are facts of speculation, fraud. Therefore, in this regard, we are considering improving the mechanism of charitable assistance, said Balayeva on the sidelines of the Majilis.
The project is only at the discussion stage in the working group. But Balayeva vowed that the initiative will be put forward for public discussion.
