Rossotrudnichestvo head Evgeny Primakov has reported that unknown and unauthorized individuals are calling to rally in support of the Russian House in Baku, offering payment for participation, Orda reports, citing The Caucasian Knot.
Irek Zinnurov, head of the Russian House in Baku, urged people to ignore these provocative "invitations" and other actions related to the center's activities.
These so-called 'organizers' sending 'invitations' have absolutely nothing to do with us - the Russian House. Please remain vigilant, he warned.
The situation follows Azerbaijan's February 6 announcement that the Russian House Cultural Center, representing Rossotrudnichestvo, had violated Azerbaijani law by operating without proper legal registration.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov expressed regret over Baku's decision to shut down the Russian House.
