Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Visits Kazakhstan to Discuss Cooperation

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov is currently in Astana on an official visit. He has already met with Murat Nurtleu, head of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry, and President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev, Orda.kz reports.
During Bayramov's reception in Aqorda, Toqayev spoke about the relations between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, emphasizing that they are based on trust and alliance.
The Azerbaijani minister, in turn, thanked on behalf of President Ilham Aliyev and the people of the Republic of Azerbaijan for assistance in investigating the crash of the AZAL plane near Aqtau.
Bayramov discussed infrastructure and energy with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Murat Nurtleu.
Kazakhstan intends to increase oil exports via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline from 1.4 million tons last year to 2.2 million tons in the future.
The two countries continue to work together on uranium supplies and laying fiber-optic communication lines and power cables along the bottom of the Caspian Sea. These projects will strengthen economic ties between Central Asia and the South Caucasus.
