Authorities Investigate Illegal Disposal of Waste Near Temirtau

Several individuals, including former Qarmet employees and representatives of contracting firms, have been detained in connection with industrial waste fraud, Orda.kz reports, citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the Ministry, the suspects are accused of removing production waste from the plant and dumping it in an abandoned area near Temirtau without proper disposal.
According to the criminal scheme, a group of plant workers, having planned their actions in advance, removed production waste and unloaded it in an abandoned area near Temirtau without proper disposal, the Ministry of Internal Affairs stated.
The Ministry reports that a total of 14 people are involved in the investigation, but did not clarify how many have been detained.
Earlier this week, police also reported the arrest of a group allegedly involved in selling raw materials from the Kazakhmys plant.
