Atyrau may soon see the reconstruction of its old bridge over the Jaiq (Ural) River, which links the city’s right and left banks. The structure has long required repair, Orda.kz reports.
The proposal was discussed during a meeting between the akim of Atyrau Region and representatives of the Chinese company Power China. The Chinese delegation has already inspected the bridge and expressed readiness to begin project development.
A working group has been created. When drafting the project, it’s important to take local residents' needs into account to minimize inconvenience during construction,
regional officials said.
Power China’s representative, Tan Xiaofeng, stated that the company is prepared to invest in the project and apply modern technologies. Located in the city center, the bridge is one of Atyrau’s key infrastructure links. Thousands of vehicles cross it daily.
Built in 1965, the structure has significantly deteriorated over the years.
