An Atyrau resident and blogger, Kadyrbay Mukhanbetzhan, has traveled to Syria to document how Damascus is rebuilding after years of armed conflict, reports an Orda correspondent.
Joined by three fellow Kazakhstanis, Mukhanbetzhan made the journey with support from a charity foundation.
The trip required a complex route due to flight restrictions — flying from Kazakhstan to Dubai, then to Amian, Jordan, before finally crossing the border by car to reach Damascus.

Through his social media reports, the blogger showcases restored areas of the city, interviews local residents, and shares insights about post-war life.

According to Mukhanbetzhan, Damascus is gradually recovering, with markets, cafes, and schools reopening, though signs of destruction remain visible throughout the city.
When I was just getting ready to go to Syria, many people told me: 'It's dangerous there,' 'Why do you need this?', 'It's better to tell me about Türkiye or Europe.' But I wanted to see everything with my own eyes. Syria is not only the war that everyone has heard about, but also people who, despite all the horrors, continue to live, work, love, and build the future, Mukhanbetzhan shared.
The blogger plans to visit additional regions of Syria to provide a more comprehensive picture of the country's current situation.
His journey has sparked significant interest on social media, with users actively discussing his reports.
