An Atyrau resident, Kuralay Bolatova, has reported a violent assault carried out by acquaintances she trusted after agreeing to promote a tour to Istanbul, Orda.kz reports.
According to Kuralay, the incident began when her friend Aidana Akmurziyeva asked her to help advertise a trip to Türkiye. She agreed and shared the post online. After followers showed interest, Kuralay decided to join the trip herself, transferring 100,000 tenge as a down payment.
However, the trip never happened. When the departure date arrived, it turned out there was no tour or tickets. Aidana claimed the money had been sent to another woman — a statement that later proved false.
She kept promising to return it. She started threatening me. She insulted me, blackmailed me, and said she'd distribute my personal videos, says Kuralay.
According to the victim, Akmurziyeva and her friend lured her out under the pretense of wanting to “just talk” and forced her into a car.
They drove her out of town to a cemetery.
They assaulted me, kicked me, screamed, and humiliated me. Then they took me to the house of one of them. In the morning, I barely made it home. My whole body ached, I had bruises and scrapes. But the worst thing was the fear and humiliation,
Kuralay claims.
The next day, she contacted the police. During an in-person questioning, one of the attackers allegedly told her:
“Don’t try to complain. My father is a prosecutor, no one will help you.”
Police have confirmed an investigation is underway.
A criminal case has been opened. All parties involved in the incident have been identified. Surveillance footage has also been seized, witnesses are being questioned, and confrontations are being conducted. All of the complainant’s arguments will be thoroughly investigated,
the Atyrau Region Police Department’s press service said in a statement.
Authorities have not yet specified under which article the case is being investigated.
