Twenty-nine Astana LRT train operators are currently undergoing the second phase of training in Tianjin, China, Orda.kz reports.
The program consists of three main modules: an advanced theoretical course, emergency scenario simulations on simulators, and hands-on training led by specialists from Tianjin Metro.
The objective is to prepare operators who can safely, efficiently, and independently manage train operations, carry out maintenance, and respond effectively to technical issues within the LRT system.
The first, introductory stage of training was held in Astana. The final stage — an internship and practical work on the trains — will also take place in the capital. The entire training program is scheduled to conclude by September 10.
Upon completion, all participants will receive official qualification certificates.
Special focus is being placed on preparing operators for emergencies; Chinese instructors have tailored simulation programs to reflect Astana’s unique climate and operational conditions.
Training operators is a key step toward launching LRT service in Astana. We strive not only to introduce cutting-edge technology but also to ensure it is managed by highly trained professionals. Using modern training equipment, modeling various scenarios, and practicing emergency protocols gives future operators all the essential skills they need, said Bauyrzhan Aitkhozhin, Managing Director of City Transportation Systems LLP.
