The capital's Akimat reported that the LRT project is entering the stage of construction of a critical infrastructure facility. The depot will be located on 16.84 hectares in the area of the international airport, Orda.kz reports.
The total area will be about 80,000 square meters. The complex will include all the necessary facilities for train technical maintenance and repair: a building for washing cars, spare parts warehouses, repair equipment, and specialized equipment for track maintenance.
The administrative part of the complex will house premises for training and advanced training of employees.

A control center for uncrewed trains is also being created - an innovative system that will automate key LRT management processes, from starting trains to stopping them at stations.
This step will minimize the influence of human factors and improve transport safety and efficiency.
