Residents of the capital have once again raised the issue of developing the Kіshі Taldykol group of lakes — this time at a meeting with city akim Zhenis Kasymbek in the Almaty district, Orda.kz reports.
The official assured that the lakes would be preserved.
I know this issue very well. There are specific decisions of the Supreme Court. We are obliged to provide water protection zones for a number of lakes — the fifth, seventh and others. We are working on this issue. Everything that is officially stated in the decisions of the Supreme Court is in progress, Kasymbek emphasized.
He also confirmed the existence of lakes that were not reflected in the general plan until 2035:
You can drive by and see for yourself. We are planning, for example, to create an eco-park on the site of the fifth section — it exists. The seventh section also exists. Where reservoirs actually exist, we will continue to work and preserve them.
The akimat is “trying as hard as possible to take everything into account” when adjusting the capital’s general plan, the akim added.
Kasymbek also announced the commencement of work to increase the water volume in Lake Ulken Taldykol.
