Senate Chair Maulen Ashimbayev addressed speculation regarding potential early parliamentary elections, Orda.kz reports.
I can't say that there are many such conversations. Perhaps someone is spreading such information. But if you look at our work, we have a very busy legislative agenda. We are considering a large number of bills, he told journalists on the sidelines.
Ashimbayev stated there were no grounds to discuss early elections, noting that the Senate continues its work as scheduled.
“The Senate is working in accordance with the approved agenda. Ahead is the adoption of a number of important laws aimed at implementing the President's reforms. Therefore, all efforts are focused on this,” he added.
Earlier, former diplomat and public figure Kazbek Beisebayev suggested that early parliamentary elections might take place in Kazakhstan.
