It is with deep sorrow that I inform you that my father Ibrahim Kubekov passed away yesterday in the city of Burgas,

Ibrahim Kubekov was known as a graphic artist and caricaturist. His work often addressed social and political themes, with world leaders, including Kazakh political figures, frequently appearing as the subjects of his illustrations.
On the morning of June 3, it was also reported that another prominent figure in Kazakh culture had passed away— writer and translator Adolf Artsishevsky.
Adolf Artsishevsky died at the age of 88. He was born in 1938 in Prokopyevsk, now part of Russia’s Kemerovo region, and spent most of his life in Almaty.
His work, filled with sincerity and love for his native land, inspired many generations. Adolf Alfonsovich will forever remain in our memory as a master of words and a man of great heart,
the Ministry of Culture said in a statement.
Artsishevsky authored around fifteen books and was known for translating the works of prominent writers from Kazakhstan — Ilyas Yesenberlin, Akim Tarazi, Kalihan Iskakov, Bakhozho Mukayev, and Dulat Isabekov — into Russian.
He was in charge of the literary department at the Republican Youth Theatre and at the State Academic Russian Drama Theatre named after Lermontov. He was the editor-in-chief of the first Kazakhstani TV series 'Crossroads' on Kazakhfilm and the magazine 'New Era,'
says Artsishevsky’s biography on the "Literary Portal" website.
He was also the first editor of Olzhas Suleimenov’s renowned book Az i Ya.
Orda.z extends its condolences to their families and loved ones.
