Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan dismissed concerns about heightened tensions along the border, Orda.kz reports, citing NewsArmeniaAM.
The Armenian–Azerbaijani border remains a sensitive area due to years of armed conflict and territorial disputes following multiple rounds of fighting between the two countries.
The two nations have made notable progress in resolving the disputes. One was the signing of a declaration of peace in Washington in August.
The situation on the border is very calm. During the holidays, service is carried out with increased vigilance, Papikyan told journalists on Monday.
According to him, weather conditions pose a greater challenge than security concerns, with strong winds and snowstorms affecting the area.
