Armenia’s Ministry of Defense has denied the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry’s statement that Armenian armed forces allegedly opened fire on Azerbaijani positions along the southeastern section of the border zone on April 2 between 13:55 and 14:05, Orda.kz reports.
The Armenian ministry stated that the claim does not reflect reality.
The statement also recalled that the Office of the Prime Minister of Armenia had previously proposed creating a joint Armenia-Azerbaijan mechanism to investigate ceasefire violations or reports of such incidents.
The Armenian Defence Ministry claims Azerbaijan has not responded to the proposal:
The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia confirms that, in line with the position of the Office of the Prime Minister, it is ready to investigate any facts supporting the statement of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense, if they are shared with the Armenian side, the Ministry said.
