In Aqtau, workers of the Oil Construction Company, a JSC NC KazMunayGas subsidiary, went on strike, reports an Orda.kz correspondent.
The day before, more than 50 people took to the streets of the city, trying to stop traffic between the 11th and 12th micro-districts.
A video circulated on social networks showing people standing on a pedestrian crossing, blocking the passage of vehicles.
The Mangistau region police say the strikers did not block the road and law enforcement ensured public order.
The Aqtau Akimat declined to comment.
In response to an inquiry from Orda.kz, the JSC NC KazMunayGas press service explained that the employees demanded that they be transferred to the company’s staff.
A one-time transfer of 55 people is not possible due to the lack of vacancies in Oil Construction Company LLP. The transfer to the staff is carried out in stages in the event of vacancies. A meeting with the outstaffing employees of Samruk Bussines Academy is also planned on this issue in December 2024. In turn, we call on employees to comply with the current legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and resolve emerging issues through constructive dialogue.
