Orda.kz reached out to the chief prosecutor of Aktau to clarify the details of a scandal involving Yerbolat Abdirov.
Media outlets and social networks had reported that Abdirov was detained at the airport for “drunken disorderly conduct.” According to those reports, he was issued administrative citations under two articles: appearing intoxicated in a public place and using obscene or offensive language toward others.
The Mangystau regional prosecutor’s office confirmed the incident but withheld specifics.
“We are conducting an internal investigation; measures will be taken based on the results,” the office stated.
Abdirov, however, insisted the claims were exaggerated.
There is nothing there. They just made it up when they found out who I was. Now they have compiled a report. I do not agree with this report, I will appeal. Yedilov was hasty, the decision has not been made yet. It's just that when such a fact occurs, they always open a case. And based on the results, a decision is made whether the passenger is at fault or not. I was not there as an employee. In principle, I am not worried about myself, he told an Orda.kz journalist.
The newsroom has also sent an inquiry to the transport police and is awaiting a response.
