Aqorda Announces Changes, Zheldibay, Yesekeyev, Ashim Take New Posts

President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev has made several personnel changes within his administration, Orda.kz reports.
According to Aqorda, the following appointments and transfers have taken place in the presidential administration:
- Ruslan Zheldibay is no longer an adviser to the President of Kazakhstan. He has been reassigned as an assistant to the President
- Kuanyshbek Yesekeyev was transferred from his role as presidential adviser to the position of assistant to the head of state
- Marat Ashim has been appointed presidential adviser while continuing to serve as head of the protocol service
Zheldibay had held the post of adviser and press secretary since February 17.
Prior to that, he was assistant to the President on domestic policy and communications.
His career also included positions as head of the Department for Information Work in the Internet Space and Social Networks under the Information and Communications Committee, deputy chair of the Information Committee, and various other roles within the Presidential Administration.
In April 2022, he was appointed press secretary to the President. The official Aqorda statement does not explicitly mention his removal from the press secretary position; it notes only his transfer from adviser to assistant.
Kuanyshbek Yesekeyev previously served as Chair of the Board of JSC Kazakhtelecom from 2010 until 2024.
Before that, he headed the Agency for Information Technology and Communications. Since 2024, he has held the position of presidential adviser.
Marat Ashim, Envoy Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the 2nd class, has worked in the presidential protocol service since April 2018, when he was appointed Deputy Chief of Protocol.
In March 2023, he became Chief of the Protocol Service. With the latest decision, he now also holds the status of presidential adviser.
