Appeal Unchanged: Gracheva to Spend 10 Years in Prison

The appellate court in Astana upheld Lyudmila Gracheva's sentence, Orda.kz reports.
Gracheva promised to help mitigate Kuandyk Bishimbayev's sentence for 100 million tenge.
The trial was public, but the defendant was not present.
The verdict of the specialized inter-district criminal court of Astana dated October 28, 2024 regarding the convicted Lyudmila Gracheva shall be left unchanged. The convicted person's appeal shall be dismissed. The ruling shall enter into force from the moment of its announcement,the judge read.
The prosecutor initially requested 11 years in prison, but the court handed down a 10-year sentence.
The charges:
- Paragraph 2 of part 4 of article 190 of the Criminal Code, “Fraud on an Especially Large Scale,” with the application of part 3 of article 24 of the Criminal Code, “Preparation for a Crime and Attempted Crime."
- Part 4 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, “Giving a Bribe on an Especially Large Scale,” with the application of Part 4 of Article 28 of the Criminal Code, “Incitement.”
