Kazakhstan is set to spend 2.5 billion tenge on a military parade marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War. Senator Andrey Lukin believes the costs are entirely justified, Orda.kz reports.
More than justified. This is a political issue that our society has embraced positively. Kazakhstanis are preparing to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory, and one of the major events will be the military parade of the Republic of Kazakhstan's armed forces on May 7, Lukin stated during a Senate briefing.
He emphasized that the parade will not only be significant for Kazakhstan but will also draw attention from the international community. Therefore, in his view, “any expenses are justified.”
