At a Senate briefing, Darkhan Kurakbayev, deputy chair of Antikor, outlined key aspects of Kazakhstan’s developing register of corrupt officials, Orda.kz reports.
The initiative was first proposed for consideration in January.
Individuals will only be added to the register after a court verdict or other official decisions, such as those from the Prosecutor’s Office, come into force. This register must be legally regulated, and the corresponding bill is currently under review in the Majilis,Kurakbayev explained.
He also clarified that inclusion in the register is not permanent. Once a conviction is expunged, the individual will be removed from the list.
