Another Charity Head Detained on Fraud Allegations

Another head of a charitable foundation has been detained on suspicion of fraud, Orda.kz reports.
According to the Almaty city police department, a criminal case has been initiated against Ilyas Sariev.
The foundation he leads has a significant online following, with nearly 400,000 subscribers on Instagram. The organization has launched fundraising campaigns to support children, the elderly, and others in need.
A set of investigative measures aimed at a comprehensive and objective investigation is being carried out. Based on their results, a procedural decision will be made,the statement reads.
This is not the first case of its kind. Perizat Kairat, the head of the Biz Birgemiz foundation, was previously detained on similar allegations.
