Paramedics in Taldykorgan have issued a public appeal to President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev and Health Minister Akmaral Alnazarova, calling for higher wages and improved working conditions, Orda.kz reports.
Ambulance workers say their jobs involve constant physical and emotional strain, yet their earnings do not reflect the burden of emergency care.
Emergency medical care is a service that saves lives in the first minutes. We face enormous physical and emotional strain every day, but our pay doesn't match it,
say the medics in their video message.
This is the third recorded appeal by ambulance staff in recent weeks. Earlier, workers in Temirtau and Shu made similar statements, signaling growing unrest in the emergency medical sector.
In Shu, paramedics claimed that while paperwork shows salaries of up to 450,000 tenge, real monthly income is closer to 180,000. Many take on part-time shifts to survive, and the local emergency station reportedly operates from a cold, rented facility with no reliable electricity.
Workers in Temirtau also complained of dangerous conditions and low pay — around 200,000 tenge per month — demanding safe working environments, proper vehicle equipment, and fair compensation.
Following these complaints, Health Minister Akmaral Alnazarova ordered a review of the current wage system and promised that she would return with a “ready-made solution.”
Her image has also drawn public attention recently after criticism over her luxury designer accessories — a topic she declined to comment on when questioned.
