Debt collection for unpaid heating and hot water bills continues in Almaty, where residents now owe more than 2 billion tenge, according to Almaty Heating Networks LLP, reports Orda.kz.
To recover the funds, the utility provider has intensified enforcement measures.
Since the beginning of the year, hot water has been cut off for more than 600 customers who failed to pay. Businesses have also accrued debts — over 3,000 pre-trial notices have already been sent to various companies.
We’ve taken action to recover debts from 5,184 non-paying customers who owe for heating and hot water, the utility provider stated.
Lawsuits are being prepared for court enforcement, along with notarized writs of execution. Judicial enforcement agents have begun seizing property and bank accounts, blocking international travel, and garnishing wages.
A total of 1,754 people have already been subjected to these legal measures.
Almaty Heating Networks urges residents to settle their bills on time to avoid strict penalties and service disruptions.
