Robots will begin monitoring heating networks in Shymkent, where a special pipeline diagnostics complex is being launched, reports Orda.kz, citing the Ministry of Energy.
The robotic system will apply the acoustic resonance method to assess pipe strength and detect risks of cracks or leaks. Artificial intelligence will process the collected data, allowing defects to be identified more quickly and accelerating the work of human operators.
The project is being implemented under the Unified State System for Management of the Fuel and Energy Complex (EnergyTech).
According to the Ministry, the “smart” system will automatically scan steel pipelines for corrosion or other types of damage. It will also estimate the remaining service life of pipes and predict potential accidents in advance.
By introducing AI, officials expect to optimize the allocation of repair budgets, distributing funds based on the actual condition of the heating networks.
