Afghanistan Reports $1.7B Trade with Central Asia

The Ministry of Industry and Commerce reports that Afghanistan's trade with Central Asian countries has reached $1.696 billion between March 2024 and January 2025 (solar year - Ed.), Orda reports, citing ToloNews.
Ministry spokesperson Akhundzada Abdul Salam Jawad revealed that exports accounted for $112 million, while imports made up $1.584 billion.
Trade between Afghanistan and Central Asian countries — Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan — has maintained normal levels over the past ten months of solar year 1403, totaling $1.696 billion, with $112 million in exports and $1.584 billion in imports, the spokesperson stated.
Meanwhile, Afghanistan has maintained significant imports from Central Asian nations, bringing in essential commodities and industrial supplies. These imports include electricity, fuel, wheat flour, cooking oil, raw materials for factories, chemical fertilizers, and cement.
