Afghanistan Eyes USD 100M in Kazakh Agricultural Imports

Afghanistan is looking to expand purchases of Kazakh agricultural products, with potential contracts exceeding $100 million, Orda.kz reports.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, talks in Kabul involved Kazakhstan’s Food Contract Corporation, Afghan state companies, business associations, and the private sector. The meeting was organized by the Trade House of Kazakhstan in Herat.
The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to ensuring food security in Central Asia… Prospects for concluding export contracts worth more than $100 million were outlined, the ministry said.
Afghanistan confirmed its readiness to create sustainable trade mechanisms, with Minister of Industry and Trade Nuriddin Azizi representing the Afghan side.
Kazakhstan was represented by Chargé d’Affaires Gaziz Akbasov, Trade House head Arman Yesentayev, and Food Corporation deputy chair Samat Tenbayev.
We are ready to increase export volumes and have all the necessary resources to ensure stable and high-quality supplies,a Food Corporation representative noted.
The deal could boost Kazakhstan’s exports, reduce trade barriers, and strengthen its agricultural presence in international markets.
