Adherents of Destructive Religious Movement Detained in Turkistan Region — Prosecutors

Security forces in the Turkestan region have arrested members of a destructive religious movement, Orda.kz reports.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the suspects were found with illegal weapons, and a pre-trial investigation has been launched.
One TT pistol (9mm) and a Baikal MP-461 (18x45) were seized from a Toyota Land Cruiser 200. Both weapons are fit for use. Forensic examinations have been ordered to determine whether they were used in other crimes,the prosecutor’s office stated.
At the residence of the main suspect, a man wanted under Article 432 of Kazakhstan’s Criminal Code was also detained. The suspects remain in custody.
Earlier, police in Jetisu detained another adherent of a destructive religious movement with drugs. Officers discovered 2.722 kilograms of marijuana in the car of a 33-year-old Taldykorgan resident.
