Abkhazia: President Refused to Resign and Left Capital

Aslan Bzhania is currently in his native village of Tamysh, Orda.kz reports, citing TASS.
Addressing his supporters, he refused to resign amid protests and asked them not to succumb to provocations.
I will remain in Abkhazia and will work as before, he stated.
Earlier, opposition representatives had spread information that the Abkhazian president was on the territory of a Russian military base.
In turn, they demanded that Bzhania resign within an hour and hold early elections. Now, the opposition has stopped negotiations with the authorities and intends to "build up its forces."
Protests in the self-proclaimed republic began on the evening of November 11.
