Abkhazia's parliament has voted against ratifying a controversial investment deal with Russia, Orda reports.

Protests rocked the unrecognized republic in mid-November 2024. As a result, Abkhazian President Aslan Bzhania and Prime Minister Alexander Ankvab resigned.

Local opposition criticized the agreement, expressing concern that Russian businesses might leave them without income from tourism.
