$5 Billion in Investments and Major Projects: Toqayev Holds Talks with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince

President of Kazakhstan Qasym-Jomart Toqayev received Sheikh Khaled bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at Aqorda, Orda.kz reports.
According to the presidential press service, the meeting was productive.
Toqayev emphasized that the UAE is one of Kazakhstan’s key partners, with both countries sharing common goals. In 2023, the governments of Kazakhstan and the UAE signed a joint declaration on implementing strategic investment projects.
The United Arab Emirates ranks among the top ten largest foreign investors in Kazakhstan’s economy. In 2024, direct investment inflows from the UAE more than doubled, reaching record levels,
Aqorda noted.
Today, 20 agreements were signed, totaling $5 billion in investment.
Relations between Kazakhstan and the UAE have long gone beyond trade and investment, covering a broad range of areas — from energy and transport to digital infrastructure and education,
Toqayev said.
The Crown Prince thanked the President of Kazakhstan for the warm welcome.
Following the meeting with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, ten agreements were signed:
- Memorandum of cooperation in the field of road transport between the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan and the UAE Ministry of Energy
- Memorandum of cooperation between the justice ministries of both countries
- Agreement on the development of energy supply and energy storage projects in Kazakhstan between Samruq-Qazyna Fund and Masdar
- Strategic cooperation agreement on digital transformation in Kazakhstan’s oil and gas sector between Samruq-Qazyna Fund and AIQ
- Memorandum of cooperation between Samruq-Qazyna Fund and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank
- Agreement on the creation of a supercomputer cluster in Kazakhstan between the Ministry of Digital Development of Kazakhstan and Presight
- Protocol between KazMunayGas and Abu Dhabi Ports Group on the development and expansion of the commercial fleet
- Strategic cooperation agreement on digitalization in the oil and gas industry between QazaqGaz and AIQ
- Agreement on investment in the development of Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport in Astana between the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan and Terminals Astana Airport Limited
The construction of a wind power plant in the Jambyl region, consisting of two wind farms, was also highlighted.
