Who’s Moving to Kazakhstan? Migration Stats for Early 2025

In the first quarter of 2025, 4,923 people arrived in Kazakhstan, while 1,122 left, according to the Bureau of National Statistics. That leaves a positive migration balance of 3,801 people, Orda.kz reports.
84.1% of those who arrived were citizens of CIS countries, with the majority coming from:
- Uzbekistan – 2,614 people
- Russia – 982 people
In addition, 783 people arrived from non-CIS countries over the three months.
Most came from:
- China – 427
- Mongolia – 129
- Türkiye – 57
The most attractive destinations for newcomers were Almaty and the Almaty and Mangystau regions.
The majority of arrivals were aged between 20 and 44, making up 61.7%.
