Viktor Mayko Assumes Role as Ukraine’s Ambassador to Kazakhstan

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Yermukhambet Konuspayev received copies of credentials from Viktor Mayko, the newly appointed Ambassador of Ukraine to Kazakhstan, Orda.kz reports.
Konuspayev congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and expressed confidence in his contribution to strengthening bilateral relations. The two sides discussed cooperation in political, economic, transport, investment, and cultural spheres, as well as plans for upcoming joint events.
The Kazakh side expressed interest in a speedy resolution of the situation around Ukraine through political and diplomatic means in accordance with the UN Charter and the fundamental principles and norms of international law,
the Ministry noted.
Ambassador Mayko thanked Kazakhstan for the warm reception and affirmed his intention to support the further development of bilateral ties.
Viktor Mayko, 65, previously served as Ukraine’s ambassador to Turkmenistan and has long-standing experience in the country’s diplomatic service.
His appointment fills a nearly two-year vacancy in the post, left open after the recall of his predecessor, Pyotr Vrublevsky, in 2022.
