The General Assembly adopted a resolution prepared by Ukraine jointly with European countries, Orda.kz reports.
The advisory document received 93 votes in support, while 18 countries voted against it, including USA, Russia, Belarus, and Israel.
65 states, including Kazakhstan, abstained.

This resolution calls for an "immediate, complete and unconditional" withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukrainian territory, an end to hostilities, and reaffirms the international community's commitment to Ukraine's sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity within its recognized borders.
Meanwhile, the UN Security Council also adopted a resolution on Ukraine proposed by the United States.
This shorter three-paragraph text doesn't condemn aggression but calls for peace.
Ten countries voted in favor – USA, China, Russia, Algeria, Guyana, Sierra Leone, South Korea, Pakistan, Panama, and Somalia – while five abstained: Great Britain, France, Greece, Slovenia, and Denmark.
This resolution expresses sorrow for victims of the "Russian-Ukrainian conflict" and reaffirms the UN's commitment to maintaining international peace and security, calling for the earliest possible establishment of lasting peace.
The assembly adopted three resolutions: one drafted by Ukraine and European countries, another proposed by the United States but amended to include language supporting Ukraine, and the U.S.-proposed Security Council resolution.
According to Reuters, this gave Kyiv and its European allies a diplomatic advantage over Washington.
Following the G7 summit, U.S. President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron held a joint press conference discussing Ukraine conflict settlement, peace talks, and European security in The White House.
Trump stated the war could end within weeks if parties showed flexibility in negotiations, emphasizing that Washington would prevent escalation to World War III.
He also noted that the U.S. and Ukraine are "very close to reaching a final agreement" on rare earth metals "and various other things."
Zelenskyy could come this week or next week to sign the deal, and that would be great. I would love to meet him, meet him in the Oval Office, Trump said.
The U.S. President also reported that:
- Putin doesn't object to European peacekeeping troops on Ukrainian territory as part of a future agreement
- The U.S. is interested in long-term economic projects with Russia that could contribute to peaceful resolution
- May 9 is too early to travel to Moscow, but "I want to arrive at the right time"
President Macron emphasized that Ukraine should participate in negotiations to end the war and confirmed that Paris and London had developed a security guarantee plan for Kyiv. He noted that:
- Deployment of European troops in Ukraine is being considered, but solely for security purposes
- Seizing frozen Russian assets is impossible as it violates international law
- Ukraine must participate in peace negotiations, with European countries ready to provide security guarantees
