The BBC has published a new list of 100 inspiring and influential women in the world, Orda.kz reports.

The list included entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.

The BBC's 100 Women project shows that despite the challenges faced by women this year, many continue to fight for change by taking on pioneering roles in their local communities.

The first Central Asian woman is Dilorom Yuldosheva, an entrepreneur from Uzbekistan. Two years ago, She lost both legs in an accident but still opened a sewing business. Later, she taught the craft to dozens of women.

The second is Zhanylsynzat Turganbayeva hailing from Kyrgyzstan. The BBC says she is the director of an ethnographic museum, yet publicly available information indicates that Zhanylsynzat is a well-known businesswoman in her country.

She owns the Supara recreation area near Bishkek.

The main work of Zhanylsynzat Turganbaeva’s life was the preservation and revival of Kyrgyzstan’s cultural heritage, the BBC writes about her.

BBC writes that Turganbayeva is involved in charitable activities to preserve Kyrgyz literature, including the Manas epic.
