The Treaty of Allied Relations between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan has officially come into force, Orda.kz reports, citing the Uzbek President's press service.
Originally signed a year ago in Dushanbe, the treaty aims to strengthen strategic ties between the neighboring countries. On March 31, during Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s visit to Khujand for a trilateral meeting with the leaders of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, the agreement was formally enacted.
The foreign ministers of both nations signed the protocol and exchanged ratification documents in the presence of Presidents Mirziyoyev and Emomali Rahmon.
