Toqayev and New South Korean President Lee Jae-myung Discuss Future Cooperation

President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev held a phone call with newly elected South Korean President Lee Jae-myung on July 23, Orda.kz reports.
According to Aqorda, the two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral ties.
During the conversation, the Presidents confirmed their desire to further strengthen Kazakh-Korean multifaceted relations. The importance of effectively implementing current and future projects in the fields of industry, energy, automotive industry, education and medicine was emphasized,
Aqorda's statement says.
Lee invited Toqayev to make an official visit to South Korea and to participate in the upcoming Central Asia – Republic of Korea forum, scheduled for 2026 in Seoul. Toqayev accepted the invitation.
Lee Jae-myung officially assumed the presidency on June 4, 2025, following political turmoil triggered by the December 2024 declaration of martial law and the subsequent impeachment of former president Yoon Suk-yeol.
