Russia's Defense Ministry has claimed Ukraine attempted to disrupt European gas supplies by targeting the Russkaya compressor station with nine drones on January 11, Orda reports, citing ASTRA.
The station, located in Gay-Kodzor village, Krasnodar Territory, supplies gas via the Turkish Stream pipeline - now the only major route delivering Russian gas to southeastern Europe following Ukraine transit's closure on January 1.
While officials claim all drones were intercepted, and gas flow remains stable, they have acknowledged "slight damage" to the station from drone debris.
Although Ukraine hasn't commented on these specific claims, residents in Anapa and Novorossiysk confirmed drone activity that night, with city officials activating warning systems and urging people to remain indoors and take shelter in windowless rooms.
