U.S. President Donald Trump made a series of remarks during an interview with NBC, Orda.kz reports.
Trump stated that he is prepared to impose additional tariffs on Russian oil products if Moscow and Kyiv fail to reach a ceasefire agreement.
If you buy oil from Russia, you can't do business in the U.S. All oil will be subject to a 25% tariff, from 25 to 50 points,
Trump stated.
He added that he was “very angry and furious” when Russian President Vladimir Putin questioned Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s legitimacy and suggested a change in leadership in Kyiv.
Trump also revealed that he is planning to speak with Putin next week. The U.S. President and U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer also discussed maintaining collective pressure on Russia following the NBC interview.
The U.S. president also addressed tensions with Iran, threatening new secondary sanctions on Iranian goods and military action “like they have never seen before” if the two sides fail to reach a deal on Iran’s nuclear program.
