QazNews24 Satirist to Spend 2 Months in Custody

A case was opened against the satirical author of QazNews24, Temirlan Yensebek, under Article 174 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan - incitement of social, national, clan, racial, class or religious discord, Orda.kz reports.
Today, a court hearing was held to determine the preventive measure for the investigation period - house arrest on bail or detention in a pre-trial detention center.
According to QazNews24, the preventive measure chosen is 2 months in custody.
Yesterday, January 17, Temirlan Yensebek's apartment was searched.
Later, Yensebek was detained and taken to the temporary detention facility.
