Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States: Reforms and Regional Cooperation Discussed
President of Kazakhstan Qasym-Jomart Toqayev met with the speakers of parliaments from the member countries of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States, Orda.kz reports.
Kazakhstan believes that the Parliamentary Assembly plays a special role in the economic, cultural, and humanitarian development of our countries. Last year alone, we organized around a hundred events that helped accelerate Turkic integration. The Fifth World Nomad Games were held in Astana. One historic milestone was the adoption of a unified version of the Turkic alphabet,
the Kazakh leader said during the meeting.
Many of these accomplishments were previously discussed at the Organization of Turkic States summit in Budapest. Toqayev has proposed hosting the next summit in Turkistan.
As a reminder, in March, Turkistan was granted special status and declared the cultural center of the Turkic world.
During my meetings with the public, especially young people, I always say that the future of our country lies in the hands of the younger generation. And that is indeed true.
Toqayev acknowledged that Kazakhstan still faces many challenges, but emphasized that steps are being taken to resolve them:
"We are working on large-scale infrastructure projects, extensive digitalization, the introduction of artificial intelligence, comprehensive support for agriculture, and strengthening our transport and logistics capacity."
Astana is also planning to host a separate meeting of the Turkic states focused on the role of parliamentary diplomacy.
