Following inquiries and complaints from KTZ employees in Mangystau, new workwear was purchased for them. The news emerged on December 12. The national company spent 79 million tenge on this, Orda.kz reports.
In October, KTZ workers from the Beineu section of the Mangystau region recorded a video message claiming that the regional branch's management had brought in thugs to “calm down” employees who were dissatisfied with the lack of protective clothing.
According to the workers, two unknown men were present at a meeting regarding working conditions and protective clothing. After the meeting, these men allegedly threatened the workers, demanding they “calm down.”
According to the workers, this was not the first time such incidents had occurred.
KTZ stated that the situation was internal and likely related to a misunderstanding between individual employees and departmental management. The company said its central office and the Main Line Directorate would send a working group to the region to clarify all circumstances and conduct an internal investigation.
Workers demanded the dismissal of several managers, but none have so far been officially declared suspects or dismissed.
In response to editorial inquiries, the national company reported that it had taken steps to revise standards for workwear, safety footwear, and personal protective equipment at line enterprises, including improving fabric quality and tailoring.
The suggestions and comments of employees of the Mangystau Branch of the Main Line Network (NZhS-14), including winter workwear, were taken into account. The branch signed contracts for the supply of winter clothing (winter jacket, mid-season jacket, trousers) worth 79.2 million tenge excluding VAT,
the company reported.
The suppliers were:
- Zhanarys LLC — 627 sets of workwear, 168 of which have already been shipped
- Zhamal-ai LTD LLC — 739 kits, of which 194 have been shipped so far
The remaining volumes are in the production and sewing stage and are being prepared for distribution to workers. KTZ noted that the workwear is custom-made for each employee and is issued after the wear period of the previous clothing expires.
The workwear is purchased from domestic manufacturers.
In October of this year, a working group from the central office of KTZ JSC and the directorate was dispatched to the Mangystau region to objectively review the information presented in the appeal. The majority of employees of NZhS-14 Mangystau support the director, Y.K. Izturganov, noting that he performs his duties efficiently, ensures stability in production processes, and contributes to the branch's development. Collective appeals signed by more than 500 employees confirm their confidence in his management skills and positively evaluate his professional qualities,
KTZ commented on the recent conflict between employees and management.
Following the internal investigation, the company’s management concluded that Izturganov had not committed any violations.
