KMG Head Commented on Video with OzenMunayGas General Director
Recently, the general director of Ozenmunaygaz, Zhanbolat Saimagambetov, made obscene remarks towards the company’s employees during their strike, Orda.kz reports.
Chair of the KazMunayGas Board Askhat Khasenov believes that this unpleasant situation was preceded by other events.
Of course, we are not saying that the general director did the right thing. But before that, people entered the building of the Drilling Operations Department, agitated forcibly, and in some places even tried to get employees out into the street to join the unauthorized protest. That is, they were already offending people,
Khasenov said.
He said the director's comments were prompted by an "emotional outburst" and that at the time he was acting more as a city resident, defending the women.
When you watch the video, you can see that at that moment he was speaking more as a city resident than as a director. Measures have already been taken. This concerns not only the conversation but also compliance with the corporate code. Especially since he is the first manager. In the future, we will make sure that this does not happen again, Khasenov assured.
The latest strike of JSC OzenMunayGas wokers began in mid-November. The striking workers of the drilling operations department declared the suspension of production.
On November 15, JSC NC KazMunayGas gave an official response and rejected the strikers' demands.
Later, a video emerged where Zhanbolat Saimagambetov uses obscene language towards protesting oil workers.
KMG says the workers have received explanations and are gradually returning to work.
