Kazakhstan's President Extends Condolences on Passing of Renowned Abay Scholar Mekemtas Myrzakhmetuly
President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev has expressed his condolences to the loved ones of Mekemtas Myrzakhmetuly, a distinguished Abay scholar, Doctor of Philology, and first-degree Barys Order recipient, according to Orda.kz citing Aqorda.
The President highlighted Myrzakhmetuly's role as a leading figure in Kazakhstan's intellectual community, noting his lifelong dedication to studying Abay's works and advancing the country's literary studies field.
He made a significant contribution to strengthening national spirituality and left behind a galaxy of students. His works, which were the result of many years of painstaking research, have been given deserved recognition. The bright name of Mekemtas Myrzakhmetuly, who lived a worthy life and left an indelible mark on history, will remain in the memory of our people, the telegram says
The renowned Kazakh scientist, Abay scholar, and philologist passed away today at 95.
