The Civil Aviation Committee has advised Kazakhstani Airlines not to fly over Iran. The day before, Iran launched a massive missile strike against Israel.
Due to the aggravation of the situation in the Middle East, Kazakhstani airlines are advised to fly around Iranian airspace and choose alternative routes. It is also important to follow previously received instructions and recommendations for flights in the relevant region, the Civil Aviation Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.
Air carriers have promptly reacted. Air Astana has already followed the recommendation of the Civil Aviation Committee and the Ministry of Transport:
The airline has decided to operate flights to Dubai bypassing Iranian airspace. Flight routes from Astana and Almaty to Dubai will be changed and flight time will be increased.
Meanwhile, Air Astana has left the flight route to Saudi Jeddah unchanged, although they specified that it could be revised in the event of an escalation.
If necessary, the company will make additional changes to ensure flight safety,Air Astana added.
