The first meeting of the Peace Council — a new international structure created on the initiative of the President of the United States — was held in Washington at the Donald Trump Institute of Peace. The meeting took the form of a roundtable and was broadcast from the White House, Orda.kz reports.
Opening the meeting, Trump said countries must unite their efforts to stabilise and rebuild the Gaza Strip after the war. He argued that peace and security in the region should be achieved through practical measures rather than declarations. The U.S. president said Washington was ready to allocate $10 billion to the Peace Council, noting that the sum was «disproportionately less than the costs of war.»

He also said the Peace Council would monitor the UN’s activities and promote its «proper functioning.» He did not explain how this would be implemented, adding that the Council was ready to provide financial support to the UN if necessary.
In his speech, Donald Trump also touched on the war between Russia and Ukraine, saying he had previously hoped for a simpler and faster settlement. He also mentioned several conflicts he said were resolved with his participation. Separately, Trump spoke about his role in the political success of some foreign leaders he supported, including Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and Argentine President Javier Milei.
International forces and Gaza
One of the key outcomes of the meeting was a statement by the commander of the international stabilization forces, Major General Jasper Jeffers. He said five countries would send military contingents to take part in the mission in the Gaza Strip: Indonesia, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Kosovo and Albania.

In addition, Egypt and Jordan committed to training the Palestinian police. The international forces are expected to deploy first in the Rafah area in southern Gaza, with an expansion of the area of responsibility later on. Preliminary estimates put the contingent at up to 20,000 service members, while about 12,000 police officers are to be trained.
Kazakhstan’s position
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, speaking at the inaugural meeting of the «World Council, ” thanked Donald Trump for the event and said the organisation responds to new global realities.
«The world has not yet seen such initiatives — in essence, this is an unprecedented step, since the innovative concept, the project „Peace through Creation,“ has every chance of becoming a reality thanks to our joint efforts. Therefore, Mr. President, I fully share your belief that lasting peace should be based on concrete actions,» Tokayev said.

Tokayev declared Kazakhstan’s readiness to take part in the stabilisation and reconstruction of Gaza. In particular, he said the country plans to send medical units with a field hospital, as well as observers to the Centre for Civil-Military Coordination.
«Kazakhstan is interested in participating in restoration and construction through international companies with a proven business reputation and a high level of competence. This programme may include the construction of infrastructure, housing, schools, hospitals and other essential social facilities. Our country, being one of the world’s largest wheat producers, is ready to provide humanitarian assistance to ensure food security in Gaza and beyond. Kazakhstan plans to allocate more than 500 educational grants to Palestinian students to study at our universities for five years. We could also share our internationally recognised experience in e-government and other digital solutions. Kazakhstan is ready to support the international stabiliяation forces by sending medical units with a field hospital, as well as observers to the centre for civil-military coordination,» Tokayev said.
Tokayev also proposed establishing a special «World Council» award named after President Trump in recognition of his services in peacekeeping.
The head of state confirmed Kazakhstan’s readiness to provide practical support to the «World Council,» including hosting international meetings and events in the country.

During the meeting, participants were presented with plans for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, including infrastructure, security and international financing. Jared Kushner, a member of the Senior Executive Council, presented a master plan for Gaza’s development, stressing that the region should become a modern and sustainable place for people to live.
World Bank President Ajay Banga said the Peace Council’s financial mechanisms would be based on transparency and targeted allocation of funds. General Jasper Jeffers spoke about measures to ensure security and maintain stability in Gaza, while Ali Shaat, head of the National Gaza Management Committee, presented approaches to coordinating reconstruction work.

The meeting was also attended by leaders and high-ranking representatives of Bahrain, Qatar, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Romania, Albania, Egypt, the UAE, Turkey, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Morocco.
Financing and next steps
According to Trump, nine countries — including Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, the UAE, Morocco, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan and Kuwait — pledged a combined additional $7 billion for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.
The meeting also presented plans for infrastructure development, security and international financing for the region. Reports were delivered by representatives of the Peace Council’s executive bodies, including Jared Kushner, as well as heads of international financial and regional organisations.
The roundtable took place against the backdrop of Trump’s remarks about the need to clarify the situation around Iran’s nuclear programme as soon as possible and his assessment of current global conflicts. After the roundtable, decisions and a board vote are expected to follow.
