Indonesia has officially joined BRICS as its newest member, Brazil's government announced Monday, according to Reuters.
The bloc also includes Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.
The Southeast Asian nation, home to the world's fourth-largest population, sought membership to strengthen developing countries' influence and advance Global South interests.
